Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • ability to push trucks and carts with food and supplies
  • must be able to read menu items in English except pot-washer position
  • must be able to communicate in English except pot-washer position

Job Duties

  • attends department meetings monthly in-services training classes etc as assigned
  • anticipates and meets customer needs takes appropriate steps to rectify issues
  • maintains cleanliness of work areas
  • maintains cleanliness and sanitation of department equipment
  • demonstrates a positive and friendly attitude
  • adheres to all HACCP standards
  • alerts supervisor to any concerns discrepancies product shortages etc
  • actively supports and upholds department goals to maintain or improve operations and customer satisfaction
  • works in various tray line cafeteria and kitchen positions
  • sets up and stocks food station for meal service
  • assembles patient trays and delivers trays from patient rooms
  • cleans station equipment and floors at the end of each meal
  • may operate dish machine trash compactor mopping floors
  • prepares additional food items for patient tray line
  • regularly works on sanitation projects assigned by manager
  • assists with training of new employees as well as cross training of fellow employees
