Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent
- prior experience in food service or cafeteria settings preferred
- knowledge of food safety procedures
- ability to follow directions and work under supervision
- ability to communicate effectively with students and staff
- physical ability to stand for extended periods and perform manual tasks
- willingness to comply with school policies including tobacco-free workplace guidelines
Job Qualifications
- high school diploma or equivalent
- prior experience in food service or cafeteria operations preferred
- knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
- ability to operate point-of-sale (POS) systems
- good communication skills for interacting with students, staff, and parents
- ability to work independently and as part of a team
- basic math skills for meal counting
- physical stamina to perform cleaning and food preparation tasks
Job Duties
- sets up a pos system on a daily basis for meal counts
- receives food from vendors and ensures accurate delivery
- follows proper food safety procedures when preparing breakfast, lunch, and snacks
- ensures cleanliness in the cafeteria and all related equipment
- maintains fridges, ovens, freezers, and clears out extra food prior to expiration
- disposes of all food from the share table and cleans area
- completes accident reports as needed
- separates trash and places them in the correct compactors following waste guidelines
- serves as lead food service worker in the absence of lead as needed
- sets up and breaks down cafeteria tables
- cleans and sanitizes cafeteria tables including sweeping, mopping, and chemical use
- monitors students to ensure waste guidelines are followed
- communicates with students, staff, and occasionally parents
- performs other related duties as assigned
