Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Ability to stand for long periods
  • Physical capability for lifting, bending, pushing, kneeling, walking, and standing extended periods
  • Willingness to work in a correctional facility environment
  • Ability to follow strict food safety and sanitation guidelines

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior institutional food service or restaurant experience is a plus
  • Knowledge of food handling regulations
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to multitask and adapt quickly to changes
  • Dependability and flexibility
  • Passionate about food and customer service

Job Duties

  • Prepare and assist team members in the preparation of quality foods according to the planned menu, recipes, and work instructions in a timely manner
  • Clean and maintain a neat and food safe workstation including refrigerators, freezers, cooking equipment, and serving equipment
  • Perform cleaning tasks such as pulling trash, sweeping, and mopping as assigned
  • Serve food during planned meal schedules according to department policies and procedures
  • Utilize kitchen utensils and equipment to cook, prepare, and serve food according to recipes and client nutritional requirements
  • Abide by all food safety regulations pertaining to sanitation, food handling, and storage
  • Work in a fast-paced environment performing routine kitchen tasks while maintaining organization and cleanliness
  • Perform physical activities including lifting, bending, pushing, kneeling, walking, and standing for extended periods
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
