- Successful completion of department specific orientation
- Knowledge of food production, service and sanitation required
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions and established policies required

- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Prior experience in food service preferred
Job Duties
- Assists in serving meals in the cafeteria and on the units
- Assists in hot/cold food portioning
- Assists in tray set-up
- Collects, processes and disposes of trash accordingly
- Performs general cleaning duties as requested
- Delivers meals to patient care units and assists patients when possible
- Cleans food carriers upon return
- Prepares, stocks and transports food carriers
- Keeps dining room tables straightened and clean
- Operates cash register accordingly
- Collects cash/guest meal tickets and makes change as needed
- Locks register when leaving the immediate area
- Participates and maintains cleaning schedules
- Maintains cleanliness of work area, equipment and supplies
- Reconciles cash accurately and fills out a reconciliation slip
- Responsible for all reconciliations with a $3.00 overage/shortage
- Scrapes, scours and rinses pots, pans, utensils and equipment
- Performs heavy cleaning duties
- Sets up menu board to reflect current menu
- Wipes off counters and tables, arranges and replenishes items as needed
- Refills and stocks condiments as necessary
- Follows work assignments as established
- Performs all other duties as assigned
