Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • one year previous experience in a food service setting
  • CPR and CPI to be obtained within two weeks of date of hire
  • adaptability to perform a variety of duties and repetitive tasks
  • ability to read and follow direction
  • ability to add and subtract
  • ability to interact in a positive manner and communicate well with patients, families, co-workers, supervisors, and other hospital employees
  • stable emotional makeup to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions

Job Duties

  • prepare and serve food to patients, staff, and visitors
  • complete routine and special sanitation duties
  • interact with patients, family members, physicians, referral sources, affiliating schools, and visitors in a friendly, supportive, courteous, respectful, cooperative, and professional manner
  • promote teamwork and positive relations consistent with facility standards and guidelines
  • follow established food safety and hygiene regulations
  • assist in maintaining a clean and organized food service area
  • adapt to perform a variety of duties and repetitive tasks
