Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • experience can be accepted in lieu of a degree
  • must be able to read menu items in English (exception is the pot-washer position)
  • must be able to communicate in English (exception is the pot-washer position)
  • ability to juggle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • work requires ability to push trucks and carts with food and supplies

Job Duties

  • Attends department meetings, monthly in-services, training classes, etc as assigned
  • anticipates and meets customer needs
  • takes appropriate steps to rectify issues
  • maintains cleanliness of work areas
  • maintains cleanliness and sanitation of department equipment
  • demonstrates a positive and friendly attitude
  • adheres to all HACCP standards
  • alerts supervisor to any concerns, discrepancies, product shortages, etc
  • actively supports and upholds department goals to maintain or improve operations and customer satisfaction
  • works in various tray line, cafeteria and kitchen positions
  • sets up and stocks food station for meal service
  • assembles patient trays and delivers trays from patient rooms
  • cleans station, equipment, and floors at the end of each meal
  • may operate dish machine, trash compactor, mopping floors
  • prepares additional food items for patient tray line
  • regularly works on sanitation projects assigned by manager
  • assists with training of new employees as well as cross training of fellow employees
