Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • At least 18 years of age
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
  • Prior food service experience preferred
  • ServSafe Food Handler certification preferred

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Prior institutional food service or restaurant or cafeteria experience is a plus
  • ServSafe Food Handler certification is preferred
  • Strong leadership and supervision skills
  • Ability to multi-task and work independently or as part of a team
  • Solid understanding of food handling regulations
  • Dependable and flexible work ethic

Job Duties

  • Supervise inmate labor and team members during food preparation and food service shifts
  • Prepare, assist or instruct inmate labor and team members in preparing a variety of food items according to standards and recipes
  • Follow assigned facility housekeeping and safety practices during meal preparation and service
  • Ensure compliance with food handling regulations and safety procedures
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen workspace
  • Adapt and respond quickly to changes in the work environment
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management
