Job Duties
- Supervise inmate labor and team members in food preparation and service shifts
- Prepare and instruct in the preparation of quality foods according to menus and recipes
- Ensure proper and sanitary storage of all food items
- Serve food during scheduled meal times according to policies
- Utilize kitchen utensils and equipment to cook and serve food correctly
- Follow all food safety and sanitation regulations
- Train other food service workers
- Maintain cleanliness of work areas, including refrigerators, cooking, and serving equipment
- Enforce facility uniform policies
- Manage garbage collection and kitchen floor cleanliness
- Ensure kitchen environment is ready for food prep and serving, including sweeping, mopping, and dishwashing
- Review food portions and utensils for service accuracy
- Promote a healthy and safe work environment for all employees and inmates
- Perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, pushing, kneeling, walking, and standing for extended periods
- Perform additional duties as assigned
