Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Ability to supervise inmate labor and team members
- Capability to work closely with and interact with inmates in correctional facility
- Ability to stand and be on feet for most of the scheduled shift
- Physical ability to lift, bend, push, kneel, walk, and stand for extended periods
- Willingness to follow food safety regulations and facility policies
- Ability to maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards

- Prior institutional food service or restaurant experience preferred
Job Duties
- Supervise inmate labor and team members in kitchen during food preparation and service shifts
- Prepare and instruct team in making quality foods according to menus, recipes, and work instructions
- Ensure all food is stored properly and in a sanitary manner
- Serve food according to planned meal schedules and department policies
- Utilize kitchen utensils and equipment to cook, prepare, and serve food following recipes
- Follow all food safety regulations related to sanitation, food handling, and storage
- Train other food service workers
- Maintain a clean work area including cleaning refrigerators, freezers, cooking, and serving equipment
- Ensure kitchen floors and garbage collection are kept clean
- Promote a healthy and safe work environment
- Perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, pushing, kneeling, walking, and standing for long periods
- Follow facility uniform policy
- Perform other related duties as assigned
