Job Requirements

  • high school graduate or equivalent required
  • current City of Norfolk food handling training required at time of hire
  • ability to work independently and in a fast paced environment
  • ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • must pass criminal background check and child protective services registry search
  • ability to stand and move for extended periods
  • willingness to work around kitchen equipment heat and cold temperatures

Job Qualifications

  • high school graduate or equivalent

  • excellent time management skills
  • strong organizational and critical thinking skills
  • effective communication skills
  • prior food service experience preferred

Job Duties

  • maintains a courteous professional relationship with all organizational staff patients families and guests
  • sets up and dismantle assigned workstation such as hot food cold food salad bar and coffee station to guarantee smooth operations
  • stocks and dismantles condiment areas replenishes paper and china supplies fills beverage machines and brews coffee
  • sets up operates cleans and dismantles dish machine
  • maintains merchandising in service areas and replenishes vending machines
  • stores food in designated areas following wrapping dating food safety storage and rotation procedures
  • performs continuous cleanup of work areas equipment and utensils
