Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Food service experience in a food or hospitality service operation or institutional food service
  • Current Food Handler's Certificate or Card for applicable County/State
  • Ability to stand, bend, squat, and walk for extended periods
  • Flexibility with working hours and locations
  • Basic computer skills
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills

Job Qualifications

  • Food service experience in a food or hospitality service operation, or institutional food service role
  • An equivalent combination of education in a restaurant, catering, or retail operation and/or sanitation and dishwashing experience
  • Customer service experience
  • Able to relate to others with courtesy and tact under normal as well as stressful conditions
  • Tray-line or room service experience is a plus
  • Basic familiarity with computers preferred
  • Current Food Handler's Certificate/Card for applicable County/State

Job Duties

  • Prepare and assemble patient food trays and carts with attention to detail and according to department standards
  • Perform routine cleaning and stocking of pantries and kitchen areas
  • Follow established recipes, label and date all prepared and stored food items, and adhere to safety and sanitation standards
  • Provide excellent service in the cafeteria and during special events
  • engage with guests and staff in a friendly and professional manner
  • Prepare grilled foods and serve meals according to order specifications
  • Work effectively with other staff to deliver quality meal service on time, hot, and in accordance with safety protocols
  • Handle multiple tasks and maintain composure in fast-paced or stressful situations
  • Ability to bend, squat, stand, and walk for extended periods of time
