Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- must be at least 18 years of age
- ability to pass background checks and meet facility security requirements
- physical ability to perform duties including lifting, bending, pushing, kneeling, walking, and standing for extended periods
- willingness to work in a correctional facility
- dependable and flexible with work schedule
- ability to follow food safety and sanitation guidelines
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- prior institutional food service or restaurant experience is a plus
- ability to work in a correctional facility environment
- knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
- good teamwork and communication skills
- ability to stand and be active for extended shifts
Job Duties
- Prepare and assist team members in the preparation of quality foods according to the planned menu, recipes, and work instructions in a timely manner
- clean as you go, maintain a neat and food safe workstation, pull trash, sweep, mop, and perform other assigned cleaning duties
- serve food during planned meal schedules according to department policies and procedures
- utilize kitchen utensils and equipment to cook, prepare, and serve food according to recipes and nutritional guidelines
- abide by all food safety regulations pertaining to sanitation, food handling, and storage
- maintain a clean work area including cleaning refrigerators, freezers, cooking equipment, and serving equipment
- function in a fast-paced environment while performing routine kitchen tasks efficiently and organized
