Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • must be at least 18 years of age
  • ability to pass background checks and meet facility security requirements
  • physical ability to perform duties including lifting, bending, pushing, kneeling, walking, and standing for extended periods
  • willingness to work in a correctional facility
  • dependable and flexible with work schedule
  • ability to follow food safety and sanitation guidelines

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • prior institutional food service or restaurant experience is a plus
  • ability to work in a correctional facility environment
  • knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • good teamwork and communication skills
  • ability to stand and be active for extended shifts

Job Duties

  • Prepare and assist team members in the preparation of quality foods according to the planned menu, recipes, and work instructions in a timely manner
  • clean as you go, maintain a neat and food safe workstation, pull trash, sweep, mop, and perform other assigned cleaning duties
  • serve food during planned meal schedules according to department policies and procedures
  • utilize kitchen utensils and equipment to cook, prepare, and serve food according to recipes and nutritional guidelines
  • abide by all food safety regulations pertaining to sanitation, food handling, and storage
  • maintain a clean work area including cleaning refrigerators, freezers, cooking equipment, and serving equipment
  • function in a fast-paced environment while performing routine kitchen tasks efficiently and organized
