Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Ability to work rotating shifts including early mornings and afternoons
- Capability to stand and be on feet for extended periods
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
- Ability to supervise and train staff and inmate labor
- Strong multitasking and adaptability skills
- Dependable and flexible
- Ability to lift, bend, push, kneel, walk, and perform physical tasks during shifts
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Prior institutional food service or restaurant experience preferred
Job Duties
- Supervise inmate labor and/or team members in the kitchen during food prep and food service shifts
- Prepare, assist, or instruct inmate labor and/or team members in the preparation of quality foods according to planned menus, recipes, and work instructions
- Ensure that all food is stored properly and in a sanitary manner
- Serve food during planned meal schedules according to department policies and procedures
- Utilize kitchen utensils and equipment to cook, prepare and serve food according to recipes
- Follow all food safety regulations pertaining to sanitation, food handling and storage
- Train other food service workers
- Maintain a clean work area/environment including cleaning of refrigerators, freezers, cooking and serving equipment
- Follow facility uniform policy
- Keep up with garbage collection and maintain cleanliness of kitchen floors
- Promote a healthy and safe work environment for employees and inmates
- Perform other related duties as assigned
