Job Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to stand and be on feet for most of scheduled shift
- Physical capability to lift, bend, push, kneel, walk, and stand for extended periods

- Experience or knowledge in institutional food service or restaurant setting preferred

Job Duties
- Supervise inmate labor and team members in kitchen during food preparation and service
- Prepare and instruct food preparation according to menu, recipes, and work instructions
- Ensure proper and sanitary food storage
- Serve food during planned meal schedules following policies and procedures
- Use kitchen utensils and equipment to cook, prepare, and serve food accurately
- Follow all food safety regulations related to sanitation, handling, and storage
- Train other food service workers
- Maintain cleanliness of work area including refrigerators, freezers, cooking, and serving equipment
- Adhere to facility uniform policy
- Manage garbage collection and clean kitchen floors
- Ensure kitchen readiness for food preparation and serving including sweeping, mopping, and dishwashing
- Review portion sizes and utensils for service
- Promote a healthy and safe work environment
- Perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, walking, and standing for extended periods
- Execute other related duties as assigned
