Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum one year experience in a food service worker or related role in commercial or industrial kitchen
  • Possess valid Texas food handlers permit
  • Ability to obtain and maintain First Aid, CPR, AED certification
  • US citizenship or lawful permanent residence with at least five years residence in the US
  • Pass criminal background and consumer credit checks
  • Obtain and maintain DHS/ICE government clearance
  • Pass pre-employment and random drug tests
  • Pass medical examination and meet health requirements
  • At least 18 years of age
  • Knowledge of industrial kitchen operations
  • Ability to follow written and verbal orders and instructions
  • Literate and able to interpret rules, recipes, and instructions
  • Display good judgment and even temperament
  • Maintain professional appearance and calm demeanor
  • Demonstrate integrity, accountability, and adherence to ACA and DHS ICE standards
  • Ability to work with diverse populations
  • Maintain current physical residence in continental United States

Job Qualifications

  • Good judgment, alertness, even temperament, and satisfactory performance
  • Ability to maintain poise and self-control under mental stress
  • Professional appearance and calm demeanor
  • High degree of integrity, accountability and adherence to ACA and DHS ICE standards
  • Ability to work with diverse populations with cross-cultural perspective
  • Maintain current physical residence in continental United States

Job Duties

  • Preparation and presentation of meals including measuring, mixing, slicing, and chopping
  • Using prepared ingredients and following repetitive steps to prepare routine menu items such as sandwiches
  • Plating accurately measured portions according to dietician certified menus
  • Delivery and serving of meals to detainees in housing units
  • Packing sack lunches and delivering to processing hold rooms and transportation
  • Plating, wrapping, and serving staff meals
  • Driving box truck for delivery of meals to housing units
  • Receiving food orders, unloading trucks, and stocking food stores for dry, cold, and freezer
  • Washing dishes and food prep items manually or with mechanical machines
  • Cleaning dining and kitchen area floors, tables, and chairs
  • Cleaning grease traps and hoods
  • Cleaning storage areas
  • Cleaning other facility areas as directed by management
  • Performing other duties as needed
