Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Relevant experience in food service or customer service preferred
  • Ability to work flexible schedule including evenings and weekends
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to organize work to meet deadlines

  • Ability to operate computers and related technology
  • Physical capability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally

Job Duties

  • Operate cash register and handle monetary transactions
  • Prepare food per instructions and assist with food prep work
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary cafeteria, adhering to State of Illinois Department of Public Health standards and regulations
  • Stock food items after deliveries
  • Run daily reports and balance cash drawer to register tape on a daily basis
  • Maintain positive customer service
  • Maintain required training, licensure and/or certifications
  • Maintain confidentiality of privileged information and adhere to applicable privacy laws
  • Demonstrate sensitivity, understanding and respect of diverse populations within the workplace
  • Provide backup and/or support for co-workers during times when the division is short-staffed or experiencing increased volume of work
  • Adhere to department guidelines for attendance and punctuality
