Job Requirements

  • ability to read English and follow oral or written instructions
  • at least one year previous food service or customer service experience
  • high school degree or equivalent preferred
  • Food Safety Manager or Serv-Safe certification highly desirable
  • ability to perform moderately heavy lifting (20-40 lbs)
  • ability to stand, walk, and perform constant physical movements routinely
  • effective speech, sight, and hearing to communicate effectively

Job Duties

  • assist in the preparation of foods such as meats, vegetables, baked goods, and desserts
  • prepare foods to include beverages, salads, dressings, sandwiches, and cold plates
  • operate food service equipment including slicers, mixers, vertical cutters, choppers, Robot Coupe, blender, dish machine, and other equipment
  • transport food or supplies to areas and transport carts/trucks to designated areas
  • pass meal trays to patients following proper procedures
  • assemble and replenish food, supplies, and equipment
  • ensure proper temperature of food in steam tables, refrigerators, and cold tables
  • read orders and serve proper portions
  • remove, cover, wrap, label, date, store, rotate, and discard food and condiments per policy
  • clean assigned areas following sanitary procedures
  • sweep and mop floors
  • clean soiled dishes and sort refuse
  • set up and operate dish machine
  • inspect cleaned items for quality
  • maintain sufficient stock and supplies
  • unload incoming supplies
  • stock supplies and equipment
  • perform other duties as assigned
