Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least 18 years of age
  • Ability to work rotating shifts including 2:30 am to 1:00 pm
  • Experience working in a correctional facility or similar environment preferred
  • Physical ability to perform lifting, bending, pushing, kneeling, walking, and standing for extended periods
  • Ability to maintain a clean and safe work environment
  • Strong communication and supervisory skills
  • Commitment to following food safety and sanitation guidelines

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior institutional food service or restaurant experience preferred
  • Strong understanding of food handling regulations
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent multitasking skills and adaptability
  • Dependable and flexible work ethic
  • Strong leadership and training abilities

Job Duties

  • Supervise inmate labor and team members during food preparation and service shifts
  • Prepare and instruct food preparation according to menu and recipes
  • Ensure sanitary storage and handling of food
  • Serve food according to scheduled meal times and policies
  • Utilize kitchen equipment and utensils for cooking and serving
  • Follow all food safety regulations pertaining to sanitation and food handling
  • Train other food service workers
  • Maintain clean work environment including refrigerators, cooking and serving equipment
  • Enforce facility uniform policy
  • Manage garbage collection and kitchen cleanliness
  • Promote a safe work environment
  • Perform physical tasks associated with food service
  • Stand for extended periods during shifts
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
