Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least 18 years of age
- Ability to work rotating shifts including 2:30 am to 1:00 pm
- Experience working in a correctional facility or similar environment preferred
- Physical ability to perform lifting, bending, pushing, kneeling, walking, and standing for extended periods
- Ability to maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Strong communication and supervisory skills
- Commitment to following food safety and sanitation guidelines
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior institutional food service or restaurant experience preferred
- Strong understanding of food handling regulations
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent multitasking skills and adaptability
- Dependable and flexible work ethic
- Strong leadership and training abilities
Job Duties
- Supervise inmate labor and team members during food preparation and service shifts
- Prepare and instruct food preparation according to menu and recipes
- Ensure sanitary storage and handling of food
- Serve food according to scheduled meal times and policies
- Utilize kitchen equipment and utensils for cooking and serving
- Follow all food safety regulations pertaining to sanitation and food handling
- Train other food service workers
- Maintain clean work environment including refrigerators, cooking and serving equipment
- Enforce facility uniform policy
- Manage garbage collection and kitchen cleanliness
- Promote a safe work environment
- Perform physical tasks associated with food service
- Stand for extended periods during shifts
- Perform additional duties as assigned
