Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Prior institutional food service or restaurant experience preferred
- Ability to supervise inmate labor and team members
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation procedures
- Capability to stand and be active for prolonged periods
- Physical ability to perform lifting, bending, and other kitchen duties
- Dependability and flexibility in work schedule
- Compliance with facility uniform policy

Job Duties
- Supervise inmate labor and team members in the kitchen during food preparation and service shifts
- Prepare, assist, or instruct inmate labor and team members in food preparation according to menus and recipes
- Ensure all food is stored properly and in a sanitary manner
- Serve food during scheduled meal times following department policies and procedures
- Utilize kitchen utensils and equipment to cook, prepare, and serve food according to recipes
- Follow food safety regulations related to sanitation, food handling, and storage
- Train other food service workers
- Maintain a clean work environment including refrigerators, cooking equipment, and service areas
- Follow facility uniform policies
- Manage garbage collection and keep kitchen floors clean
- Ensure kitchen cleanliness by sweeping, mopping, and dishwashing
- Review proper portioning and utensils for service
- Promote a healthy and safe work environment for employees and inmates
- Perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
- Complete other related duties as assigned
