Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • experience accepted in lieu of degree
  • ability to read menu items in English
  • ability to communicate in English
  • ability to juggle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • ability to push trucks and carts with food and supplies
  • willingness to work scheduled hours including every other weekend
  • physical ability to perform standing, walking, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, gross and fine manipulation, feeling, talking, hearing, and vision tasks

Job Duties

  • Attends department meetings, monthly in-services, training classes
  • anticipates and meets customer needs
  • maintains cleanliness of work areas
  • maintains cleanliness and sanitation of department equipment
  • demonstrates a positive and friendly attitude
  • adheres to all HACCP standards
  • alerts supervisor to any concerns, discrepancies, product shortages
  • actively supports and upholds department goals to maintain or improve operations and customer satisfaction
  • works in various tray line, cafeteria, and kitchen positions
  • sets up and stocks food station for meal service
  • assembles patient trays, serves food and beverage to retail customers, delivers or retrieves trays from patient rooms
  • cleans station, equipment, and floors at the end of each meal
  • operates dish machine, trash compactor, mops floors
  • prepares additional food items for patient tray line and cafeteria operations
  • regularly works on sanitation projects assigned by manager
  • assists with training of new employees and cross-training of fellow employees
