Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • experience can be accepted in lieu of a degree
  • ability to communicate in English for most positions
  • ability to read menu items in English
  • ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • physical ability to push and pull carts
  • adherence to I.C.A.R.E. standards
  • willingness to participate in ongoing training and development
  • capability to lift and carry up to 35 pounds occasionally with assistance

Job Qualifications

  • knowledge of HACCP food safety standards
  • ability to operate kitchen equipment

Job Duties

  • Attend department meetings and training sessions
  • anticipate and meet customer needs and resolve issues
  • maintain cleanliness of work areas
  • maintain sanitation of department equipment
  • follow HACCP standards
  • alert supervisor to concerns and product shortages
  • work in tray line, cafeteria and kitchen positions including assembling patient trays and serving food
  • clean stations and equipment after meals
  • operate dish machine and other kitchen equipment
  • prepare additional food items for meal services
  • participate in sanitation projects
  • assist in training and cross-training employees
