Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Ability to work inside of a correctional facility
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, pushing, and walking
- Dependability and flexibility
- Willingness to adhere to all food safety regulations
- Ability to work as part of a team and independently
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior institutional food service or restaurant experience is a plus
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
- Ability to follow recipes and work instructions accurately
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Ability to multitask and adapt quickly to changing demands
- Dependable and flexible
- Ability to stand for long periods and perform physical tasks
Job Duties
- Prepare and assist team members in the preparation of quality foods according to the planned menu, recipes, and work instructions in a timely manner
- Clean as you go, maintaining a neat and food-safe workstation
- Pull trash, sweep, mop, and perform other cleaning duties assigned within the facility
- Serve food during planned meal schedules following department policies and procedures
- Utilize kitchen utensils and equipment to cook, prepare, and serve food according to recipes and nutritional requirements
- Abide by all food safety regulations pertaining to sanitation, food handling and storage
- Maintain cleanliness of refrigerators, freezers, cooking equipment, and serving equipment
- Perform routine kitchen tasks in a fast-paced environment while staying organized and clean
- Keep kitchen floors clean from food and trash
- Stand and be on feet for extended periods during the scheduled shift
- Perform other related duties as assigned
