Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED is required
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Valid driver’s license is required
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Willingness to work flexible hours
- Prior experience in food service or institutional kitchen is preferred
- ServSafe Food Handler certification is preferred
Job Qualifications

- Prior institutional food service or restaurant, cafeteria experience preferred but not required
- ServSafe Food Handler certification preferred
- Strong understanding of food handling regulations
- Ability to supervise and lead a team
- Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques
- Good communication and organizational skills
Job Duties
- Supervise inmate labor and/or team members in the kitchen during food prep and food service shifts in the kitchen
- Prepare, assist or instruct inmate labor and/or team members in the preparation of a variety of food items in accordance with departmental work production standards, standardized recipes, and work instructions
- Follow assigned facility housekeeping and safety practices in all preparation, oversight, and serving of correctional facility meals
- Ensure compliance with food handling regulations and maintain cleanliness and safety standards
- Monitor inventory and report any supply shortages or needs to management
- Train new staff and inmates on food service procedures and safety guidelines
- Perform other duties as determined by the needs of the business
