Job Requirements
- U.S. citizenship
- suitability for federal employment as determined by background investigation
- drug screening and refusal to test results in disqualification
- selective services registration for males born after 12/31/1959
- completion of online onboarding and pre-employment identification verification
- completion of all required application documents
- acceptance of a 1-year probationary period
- ability to perform physical tasks including standing, walking, stooping, reaching, pushing, pulling, bending, and lifting objects up to 20 pounds unassisted and occasionally more with assistance

- evidence of training or experience in food service or related field
- ability to interpret instructions and specifications
- knowledge of safety and technical practices in food service
- ability to use and maintain tools and equipment
- capable of working with minimal supervision
- experience in food preparation and sanitation
- strong manual dexterity and attention to detail
- ability to work as part of a team
Job Duties
- Cleans serving areas by sweeping and mopping floors, cleaning/sanitizing work surfaces and food service equipment
- cleans production equipment like steam jacketed kettles and tilt skillets using safe sanitation methods
- loads and operates dishwashers and cart washing stations
- performs preventative maintenance on equipment
- transports tray carts to wards and delivers trays directly to patient bedsides or assists with meal transport
- sets up serving areas with hot and cold foods and keeps food stocked during service
- identifies discrepancies between prescribed diets or food allergies and tray tickets
- assembles items in cold food preparation and nourishment areas
- makes cold sandwiches using prepared ingredients
