Job Requirements
- Ability to read English and follow oral or written instructions
- at least one year previous food service or customer service experience
- high school degree or equivalent preferred
- Food Safety Manager or Serv-Safe certification highly desirable
- ability to perform moderately heavy lifting (20-40 lbs)
- ability to stand, walk, and perform physical movements for prolonged periods
- effective speech, sight, and hearing for communication

Job Duties
- Assist in the preparation of foods such as meats, vegetables, baked goods, and desserts
- prepare foods to include beverages, salads, dressings, sandwiches, and cold plates
- operate food service equipment including slicers, mixers, vertical cutters, choppers, Robot Coupe, blender, dish machine, and other processing equipment
- transport food or supplies to areas, including carts and trucks
- pass meal trays to patients following proper procedure
- assemble and replenish food, supplies, and equipment
- ensure proper temperature of food in steam tables, refrigerators, and cold tables
- read orders and serve proper portions
- remove, cover, wrap, label, date, store, rotate, and discard food per policy
- clean assigned areas by following sanitary procedures
- sweep and mop floors in assigned areas or as needed
- clean soiled dishes and sort refuse into garbage or compost
- set up and operate dish machine to clean dishes and utensils
- remove labels and inspect cleaned items
- maintain sufficient stock and supplies
- unload incoming supplies
- stock supplies and equipment according to procedures
- perform other assigned duties
