Job Requirements

  • must follow set procedures in accomplishing repetitive assignments and follow established sequence of work
  • demonstrated history of related food service experience preferably with a major institution or the military is desired
  • ServSafe certification preferred
  • may be required if hired
  • lift and carry up to 50 lbs
  • work in a standing position in the dining facility and kitchen area for 6 to 7 hours excluding break and lunch periods
  • some bending and stooping

  • ability to follow established procedures and sequences of work
  • strong attention to cleanliness and food safety standards
  • physical ability to stand for 6 to 7 hours and lift up to 50 lbs
  • good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team

Job Duties

  • perform a variety of tasks in the kitchen and dining area following established procedures
  • set up and replenish cafeteria lines, steamtables, dining room tables, and side service stands with hot and cold food items
  • assemble or toss fresh fruit and green salads using prepared dressings and portions
  • make cold sandwiches using prepared ingredients
  • clean all tabletops and ensure counters and windowsills are dust-free
  • sweep and mop dining facility floors daily
  • ensure napkin dispensers, salt and pepper shakers, and condiments are fully stocked before and after meals
  • remove and wash dishes, pots, pans, and utensils according to HACCP standards
  • clean kitchen equipment daily or as needed
  • adhere to company rules and perform other tasks as assigned
