Job Requirements
- Possession of or eligible to obtain a Washington State Food Worker Card within two weeks of employment
- possession of or eligible to obtain a Class 12 Liquor License if required within two weeks of employment
- possession of Washington State Driver's License if required
- success in interpreting instructions and communications written in English
- success in communicating with customers in waiting tables and/or serving banquets
- history of safe operation of small trucks and delivery vehicles
- success in working in environments with continuous interaction with guests and staff
- success executing off-site catered events
- punctuality and satisfactory attendance
Job Qualifications
- One year of related experience in catering or dining and customer service
- ability to use the Internet, email, and Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
- familiarity with basic computer skills
Job Duties
- Review event orders with manager as needed
- gather supplies and food items in accordance with Banquet Event Order
- use gathering checklists, timelines and section maps
- make and/or mix a variety of beverage options including occasional bartending
- operate and refuel large delivery trucks according to University policy
- train all aspects of food service to student staff
- operate motorized equipment such as pallet jacks, freight elevators and truck lift gates
- review par levels and advise management or culinary of impending outages
- maintain a clean, clear and unobstructed work area
- pull hard sets for next morning deliveries or upcoming events
- portion and serve meals and drinks at attended events
- provide professional customer service in all client and guest interactions
- provide leadership according to department and University policies by serving as an example for the student team
- clean and maintain catering equipment
- ensure unit staff are properly trained on using CBORD FSS system and provide ongoing guidance
- take inventory counts using tally sheets from CBORD FSS system
- perform related duties as assigned
