Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum age of 18 years
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Capability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, pushing, kneeling, and walking
  • Willingness to adhere to facility uniform policies
  • Dependability and flexibility
  • Prior experience in institutional food service or restaurant preferred

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Prior institutional food service or restaurant experience preferred
  • Knowledge of food handling and safety regulations
  • Ability to supervise and train staff
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Job Duties

  • Supervise inmate labor and team members in the kitchen during food preparation and service shifts
  • Prepare and instruct others in the preparation of quality foods according to menus, recipes, and work instructions
  • Ensure proper and sanitary food storage practices
  • Serve food during scheduled meal times following department policies
  • Utilize kitchen utensils and equipment to prepare and serve food in accordance with recipes and nutritional requirements
  • Follow all food safety regulations related to sanitation, handling, and storage
  • Train and support food service workers
  • Maintain a clean work environment including cleaning refrigerators, freezers, cooking equipment, and serving utensils
  • Adhere to facility uniform policies
  • Manage garbage collection and keep kitchen floors clean
  • Promote a healthy and safe work environment
  • Perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, pushing, kneeling, walking, and standing for extended periods
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
