Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum age of 18 years
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Capability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, pushing, kneeling, and walking
- Willingness to adhere to facility uniform policies
- Dependability and flexibility
- Prior experience in institutional food service or restaurant preferred

- Knowledge of food handling and safety regulations
- Ability to supervise and train staff
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills

Job Duties
- Supervise inmate labor and team members in the kitchen during food preparation and service shifts
- Prepare and instruct others in the preparation of quality foods according to menus, recipes, and work instructions
- Ensure proper and sanitary food storage practices
- Serve food during scheduled meal times following department policies
- Utilize kitchen utensils and equipment to prepare and serve food in accordance with recipes and nutritional requirements
- Follow all food safety regulations related to sanitation, handling, and storage
- Train and support food service workers
- Maintain a clean work environment including cleaning refrigerators, freezers, cooking equipment, and serving utensils
- Adhere to facility uniform policies
- Manage garbage collection and keep kitchen floors clean
- Promote a healthy and safe work environment
- Perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, pushing, kneeling, walking, and standing for extended periods
- Perform other related duties as assigned
