Job Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination as determined by a completed background investigation
- Position is designated as mission essential requiring continuity of operations during emergency situations
- Successful completion of pre-placement and annual medical examinations
- Shift work required including fluctuating tours of duty such as early mornings, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays
- Overtime work may be required
- Mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination
- Ability to lift and move up to 45 pounds
- One year probationary period may be required
- Immunization screening based on occupational risk
- Male applicants born after December 31, 1959 must complete Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration

- Ability to do the work of the position without more than normal supervision

Job Duties
- Perform the complete cycle of centralized patient room service functions
- Assemble and portion assigned tray items including prepared main course, hot side items, condiments, salads, desserts in accordance with patient diet orders
- Transport food carts to wards and deliver trays directly to patients in accordance with established scripts and standard operating procedures
- Take food temperatures to ensure hot and cold foods are maintained at proper temperatures
- Rotate foods on first in, first out cycle to prevent spoilage
- Clean equipment and work area including mopping, sweeping, cleaning dishes, disposing of food waste, and cleaning patient transport carts
