  • Prior institutional food service or restaurant experience preferred
  • ServSafe Food Handler certification preferred
  • Strong understanding of food handling regulations

  • Ability to multitask and adapt quickly

Job Duties

  • Supervise inmate labor and/or team members in the kitchen during food prep and food service shifts
  • Prepare, assist or instruct inmate labor and/or team members in the preparation of a variety of food items according to departmental standards
  • Follow assigned facility housekeeping and safety practices in all preparation, oversight, and serving of correctional facility meals
  • Ensure compliance with food handling regulations and maintain kitchen sanitation standards
  • Manage kitchen operations efficiently to meet production and service goals
  • Adapt quickly to changes and multitask effectively during shifts
  • Perform other duties as determined by the needs of the business
