Job Requirements

  • Ability to learn and follow established policy and procedures
  • Ability to read and understand written and verbal instruction
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to provide customer service
  • Must learn food handling regulations and pass certification tests as required
  • Food handlers card required within 30 days of hire for Banner Staffing Services team members
  • Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card required at time of hire and maintained during employment for specified locations
  • Ability to work varied shifts including weekends and holidays

Job Qualifications

  • Ability to learn and follow established policies and procedures
  • Effective communication skills both verbal and written
  • Customer service oriented
  • Ability to learn food handling regulations and pass certification tests
  • Experience with POS or cash register when applicable
  • Additional related education and/or experience preferred

Job Duties

  • Set up workstation and prepare all assigned foods and nourishments in correct quantities following procedures and portion control
  • Clean and sanitize dishes, flatware, trays, cups, glasses, cooking utensils, equipment, and kitchen areas
  • Dispose of waste materials and monitor dish machine temperature
  • Maintain par levels of foods and supplies, restock and rotate food stocks checking expiration dates
  • Check and record food and equipment temperatures and report discrepancies
  • Deliver meals, nourishments, late trays and tube feedings to units and return excess nourishment as requested
  • Handle cash register transactions and assist with catering or special events
  • Interact with food service personnel, hospital staff, patients and families while providing good customer service and maintaining sanitation standards
  • Follow instructions and guidelines for use of cleaning chemicals and work safely in physical contact with them
