Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Food service experience preferred
  • Customer service skills
  • Ability to follow food safety and sanitation protocols
  • Current Food Handler's Certificate or Card
  • Physical ability to perform duties including standing, walking, bending, and squatting for extended periods
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts and locations
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks

Job Qualifications

  • Food service experience in food or hospitality service operation or institutional food service role
  • Equivalent combination of education in restaurant, catering, or retail operation and/or sanitation and dishwashing experience
  • Customer service experience
  • Able to relate to others with courtesy and tact under normal and stressful conditions
  • Tray-line or room service experience is a plus
  • Basic familiarity with computers preferred
  • Current Food Handler's Certificate/Card for applicable County/State

Job Duties

  • Prepare and assemble patient food trays and carts according to department standards
  • Perform routine cleaning and stocking of pantries and kitchen areas
  • Follow established recipes and safety and sanitation standards
  • Label and date all prepared and stored food items
  • Provide excellent customer service in cafeteria and special events
  • Prepare grilled foods and serve meals according to order specifications
  • Work effectively with other staff to deliver quality meals on time and in accordance with safety protocols
  • Handle multiple tasks and maintain composure in fast-paced situations
  • Bend, squat, stand, and walk for extended periods and be flexible with working hours and locations
