Job Requirements
- Ability to work in a physically active role including standing for long periods and lifting up to 50 lbs
- Ability to navigate camp property including uneven terrain and remote areas
- Visual and auditory awareness to respond to safety hazards
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
- Endurance to stand and walk for extended periods
- Ability to promptly and adequately respond to emergency situations at camp
- Must be willing to live on-site for the duration of the camp season with housing and meals provided
Job Qualifications
- Previous food service or kitchen experience preferred but not required
- Ability to follow instructions and work cooperatively with a team
- Knowledge or willingness to learn safe food handling and sanitation practices
- Ability to work in a physically active role including standing for long periods and lifting up to 50 pounds
- Willingness to live on-site during the camp season with housing and meals provided
Job Duties
- Prepare and cook meals for campers and staff following menus and dietary needs
- Support meal service by setting up and breaking down dining hall and serving stations
- Wash dishes and maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen and dining area
- Follow food safety protocols, proper storage methods, and personal hygiene standards
- Assist with accommodating allergies, restrictions, and special diets under Food Service Director
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and report maintenance needs
- Help with inventory, storage, and stocking to keep kitchen running smoothly
- Support the team to make meal service efficient and positive
