Job Requirements

  • Ability to work in a physically active role including standing for long periods and lifting up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to navigate camp property including uneven terrain and remote areas
  • Visual and auditory awareness to respond to safety hazards
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
  • Endurance to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Ability to promptly and adequately respond to emergency situations at camp
  • Must be willing to live on-site for the duration of the camp season with housing and meals provided

Job Qualifications

  • Previous food service or kitchen experience preferred but not required
  • Ability to follow instructions and work cooperatively with a team
  • Knowledge or willingness to learn safe food handling and sanitation practices
  • Ability to work in a physically active role including standing for long periods and lifting up to 50 pounds
  • Willingness to live on-site during the camp season with housing and meals provided

Job Duties

  • Prepare and cook meals for campers and staff following menus and dietary needs
  • Support meal service by setting up and breaking down dining hall and serving stations
  • Wash dishes and maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen and dining area
  • Follow food safety protocols, proper storage methods, and personal hygiene standards
  • Assist with accommodating allergies, restrictions, and special diets under Food Service Director
  • Operate kitchen equipment safely and report maintenance needs
  • Help with inventory, storage, and stocking to keep kitchen running smoothly
  • Support the team to make meal service efficient and positive
