Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least two years of supervisory experience in culinary or food service
- Ability to work in a correctional facility environment
- Knowledge of food safety laws and health regulations
- Ability to adhere to security and safety policies
- Capable of standing and performing physical duties for long periods
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Willingness to work varied shifts including weekends and holidays
- Ability to work collaboratively with correctional officers
- Ability to receive Servsafe manager certification within six months of hire
Job Qualifications
- At least two years of experience managing or supervising personnel in a culinary production kitchen or food service industry
- Culinary or food service related education, certification, or training
- Working knowledge of computer and office software including Google Workplace
- Knowledge of OSHA workplace safety standards and food safety regulations
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Servsafe manager certification or ability to obtain within six months
- Leadership experience and ability
- Menu software experience is a plus
Job Duties
- Operate and teach kitchen operations including scullery, bakery, advanced prep/cooking, tray line, cafeteria service, and cold/dry storage
- Collaborate with managers, purchasing staff, vendors, and other agencies to ensure supply availability
- Account for delivery of food, supplies, and equipment
- Conduct regular and spot check inventories
- Maintain accurate records and logs
- Identify problems and implement solutions with stakeholders
- Ensure proper maintenance of food service equipment and areas
- Organize food service areas for maximum efficiency
- Possibly drive non-CDL box truck or other vehicles
