Job Requirements
- must have a high school diploma or equivalent
- must complete a sanitation course before or during the first year
- must have knowledge of cost-effective food service operation
- ability to perform basic arithmetic
- must maintain emotional control under stress
- ability to resolve interpersonal situations
- strong organizational skills
Job Qualifications
- must read, write, and understand verbal instructions
- completion of sanitation course is preferred
- experience in supervising or managing food service staff is advantageous
- knowledge of food safety regulations and health codes
- proficiency in multitasking and scheduling
- strong communication and leadership skills
- ability to train and mentor staff
- ability to work occasional nights and weekends
- basic cashier experience is a plus
Job Duties
- produce and maintain work schedules and prepare production packets
- direct daily activities
- maintain food production safety and quality according to policies and procedures
- ensure safe and organized storage of food items
- maintain serving schedules and serve food per menu specifications following policies
- maintain sanitation of department following health and safety codes
- maintain accurate weekly inventory
- prepare orders to ensure accurate production
- supervise, evaluate, and counsel employees
- promote employee growth, efficiency, morale, and teamwork
- maintain a safe and hazard-free working environment
- train and mentor food service workers
- maintain maintenance logs for equipment
- complete food safety and temperature logs with corrective actions as necessary
- perform preventative maintenance checklists
- recommend equipment replacement
- multitask proficiently
- perform other duties as requested by Food Service Director or Manager
- fill in for absent employees
- manage daily catering event preparation and delivery
- work occasional night and weekend catered events
- attend staff food service meetings
- maintain communication with staff via various channels
- perform cashier duties as needed
- promote good public relations
