Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • applicants must be at least 18 years old
  • flexibility to work weekend, holiday, and/or evening shifts and assist at other locations as needed
  • minimum 2 years prior experience in a fresh foods environment preferably in a managerial role
  • must have reliable transportation and an active driver's license
  • serv-safe certification preferred
  • must have the ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally
  • work in walk-in coolers and freezers required
  • stand for long periods, bend and twist below waist
  • frequently lift and maneuver merchandise and supplies, including reaching above shoulder height
  • dexterity to use necessary equipment such as knives, slicers, burners, ovens, fryers, and rotisseries

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • minimum 2 years prior experience in a fresh foods environment preferably in a managerial role
  • serv-safe certification preferred
  • strong leadership and coaching skills
  • excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • ability to perform basic business math calculations
  • proficiency in cash register and scale printer operation
  • strong organizational and multitasking abilities
  • ability to uplift and motivate team members
  • positive attitude and guest service orientation

Job Duties

  • Direct department personnel, meeting department's goals and objectives, communicating directly with store management and department supervisors
  • selecting, onboarding, and coaching all new team members
  • scheduling all team members
  • offer product information, provide selling suggestions and active sampling with genuine thank you
  • take guest orders, ensure orders are completed on time and to guest's satisfaction
  • ensure department personnel follow all county, city and company food safety and sanitation guidelines and policies
  • order products and supplies necessary to maintain adequate stock levels and merchandising standards
  • oversee preparation, serving, and merchandising of deli/food service items including entrees, fried foods, pizzas, salads, soups, sandwiches, roller grill items, beverages and snacks
  • display deli and food service items following merchandising guidelines
  • follow product recipes without deviation
  • rotate deli/food service items to ensure quality, safety, and shrink control
  • receive merchandise and supplies, audit invoices, break down orders, and correctly position products in storage
  • periodically count product for inventory
  • complete paperwork accurately and timely
  • process cash register transactions, giving change and refunds
  • use scale printer ensuring correct weights and pricing
  • monitor product pricing, signage, and shelf placement
  • keep sales counters, food prep areas, shelving, walk-in coolers and freezers clean and orderly
  • ensure all personnel use proper safety equipment and procedures
  • perform other duties as assigned by management
  • work with deli ingredients including meats, vegetables, spices, nuts, sauces and oils
