Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Two years healthcare or hospitality food service experience
- Allergen Awareness Certification - VA State - ANSI-approved within 180 days
- Food Protection Manager Certification - VA State - ANSI-approved within 180 days
- Ability to lead and engage diverse teams
- Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
- Ability to manage kitchen and retail operations
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Competent in technology use including food service software and electronic health systems
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum 2 years healthcare or hospitality food service experience
- Certified Allergen Awareness - VA State - ANSI-approved certificate within 180 days
- Certified Food Protection Manager - VA State - ANSI-approved certification within 180 days
- Preferred Certified Dietary Manager Certified Food Protection Manager (CDM CFPP) from Association of Nutrition and Foodservice Professionals
Job Duties
- Ensure efficiency in kitchen and retail operations by holding the team accountable for following workflow processes, scheduled hours, assignments and documentation of food, safety and sanitation protocols
- Work with team to prioritize workload and prepare, assemble, serve food in a timely manner
- Monitor patient and retail volumes and coordinate production adjustments with culinary team and management
- Maintain accurate accounting functions such as daily and monthly meal reports, unit orders, cashier operations including settling cash drawers and deposits
- Demonstrate positive customer service and strive to exceed facility customer and patient needs by creating an exceptional dining experience
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and food safety regulations and Riverside Health System policies, promote a safe work environment
- Develop and educate staff on policies, procedures, best practices and strategic goals, engage in onboarding to reduce turnover
- Monitor food costs and inventory levels, report food and supply usage for accurate billing
- Utilize technology including food service software, patient electronic health systems, work order systems and labor management
- Assist fellow staff with customer care and provide coverage as necessary to support team and operations
