Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Minimum two years experience in institutional or commercial food preparation including one year supervisory experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to achieve ServSafe Certification
  • Ability to lift up to 100 pounds
  • Ability to work varied hours
  • Must be able to work in confined spaces
  • Ability to operate motor vehicles safely
  • Willingness to engage in hands-on supervisory role
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Two years of experience in institutional or commercial food preparation including one year supervisory experience
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to follow detailed oral and written instructions
  • Knowledge of large-scale food preparation methods and safety protocols
  • Ability to train and manage personnel
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and apply mathematical concepts
  • ServSafe Certification (or ability to obtain)
  • Strong communication and organizational skills

Job Duties

  • Conduct daily meetings with staff to communicate operational standards and assignments
  • Ensure constant communication with clients and bakery supervisors before, during, and after deliveries
  • Maintain department standards for student employees including grooming, attendance, food safety, service, cleanliness, and organization
  • Take a hands-on approach in managing staff and operations
  • Understand and follow checklists, event orders, and prep sheets for each delivery
  • Educate and train staff through lineups and individual coaching
  • Develop and maintain a catering order tracking system
  • Manage routes, drive delivery vehicles safely, track shipments and deliveries, and assist kitchen staff in preparing items for delivery
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dock area and trucks
  • Oversee afternoon and evening teams to keep bakery operations clean, efficient, and productive
  • Assist production teams with resources
  • Hold student workers accountable for meeting objectives
