Job Requirements

  • Must possess a high school diploma or GED
  • Must possess a Food Safety Manager Certification
  • Previous food service experience required
  • Ability to communicate effectively with staff
  • Ability to supervise dietary personnel
  • Knowledge of safe preparation methods
  • Medically cleared for communicable diseases with up-to-date immunizations
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Flexibility in schedule
  • May require personal vehicle use
  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds occasionally
  • Ability to perform physical tasks including sitting, standing, walking, bending, reaching, squatting, and kneeling
  • Excellent English communication skills

Job Qualifications

  • Knowledge of safe food preparation methods

  • Ability to supervise dietary personnel and ensure sanitary kitchen conditions

  • Basic knowledge of health and safety regulations

Job Duties

  • Manage food inventory and purchasing ensuring timely and cost-effective procurement
  • Train and direct food service staff in operations
  • Conduct quality improvement checks on food service operations
  • Communicate with Registered Dietitian on food service issues including participant concerns
  • Maintain accurate menu production records
  • Monitor staff performance, food preparation, and update sack lunch and supplement lists
  • Oversee food transportation from vended affiliates ensuring safety and compliance
  • Ensure food temperatures and sanitation logs are properly recorded and maintained
  • Supervise meal count procedures at point of service and maintain accurate records
  • Collect vended meals monitoring volume, temperature, and sanitation
  • Monitor emergency food supply monthly for expiration and dispose of expired items
  • Maintain safe and sanitary environment following safety policies and universal precautions
  • Maintain confidentiality of participant and company information
  • Participate in staff meetings, in-services, projects, and committees as assigned
  • Adhere to center policies including attendance and break times
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
  • Be flexible with work schedule
  • May require use of personal vehicle
