Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Minimum two years of food service management experience
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and evening shifts
- Reliable transportation and valid driver's license
- Passion for food and customer service
- Ability to lift up to 25lbs occasionally
- Ability to reach above shoulder height and bend below waist
- Ability to work in walk-in coolers and freezers
- Capability to stand for extended periods, bend, twist, and handle merchandise
- Dexterity to use kitchen equipment including knives, slicers, burners, ovens, fryers, and rotisseries
- Serv-Safe certification preferred
- Willingness to learn and follow company recipes and procedures
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum two years of prior experience in a fresh food environment preferably in a management role
- Serv-Safe certification preferred
- Ability to learn new products and recipes
- Strong interpersonal skills with helpful, tactful, and courteous demeanor
- Basic business math skills including addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication
- Ability to use register, scales, scanners, and payment terminals
- Ability to read UPC codes, product labels, store signage, and company policies
- Familiarity with deli/food service products and ingredients
- Effective verbal and non-verbal communication skills
- Ability to listen and comprehend customer and team member communication
Job Duties
- Directing department personnel, meeting department goals and objectives, communicating directly with store management and department supervisors
- Selecting, on-boarding, and coaching new team members
- Scheduling all team members
- Engaging with customers through greetings, offering product information, selling suggestions, active sampling, and expressing gratitude
- Taking customer orders and ensuring satisfaction
- Ensuring compliance with food safety and sanitation guidelines
- Ordering necessary products and supplies to maintain stock and merchandising standards
- Overseeing preparation and merchandising of deli/food items including breakfast, lunch, dinner entrees, pizzas, salads, soups, sandwiches, and snack items
- Displaying deli/food items following merchandising guidelines
- Following product recipes without deviation
- Rotating products for quality, safety, and shrink control
- Receiving merchandise, auditing invoices, and stocking storage areas
- Conducting regular inventory counts
- Completing paperwork accurately and timely
- Processing cash transactions, refunds, and giving correct change
- Using scale printer machines to ensure correct weights and pricing
- Monitoring product pricing, signage, and shelf tags
- Maintaining clean and orderly sales counters, food prep areas, warehouse shelves, and walk-in coolers/freezers
- Ensuring proper safety equipment and procedures
- Performing additional duties as assigned by management
