Job Requirements

Job Qualifications

  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations

  • Prior institutional food service or restaurant experience preferred

Job Duties

  • Supervise inmate labor and team members during food preparation and service shifts
  • Prepare, assist, or instruct inmate labor and team members in food preparation according to menus, recipes, and work instructions
  • Ensure proper and sanitary storage of all food items
  • Serve food according to planned meal schedules and department policies
  • Use kitchen utensils and equipment to cook, prepare, and serve food following recipes
  • Train other food service workers on procedures and safety
  • Maintain cleanliness of work areas, including refrigerators, freezers, cooking and serving equipment
  • Enforce facility uniform policy and promote a safe work environment
  • Perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, pushing, and standing for extended periods
  • Perform other duties as assigned
