Job Duties
- Supervise inmate labor and team members during food preparation and service shifts
- Prepare, assist, or instruct inmate labor and team members in food preparation according to menus, recipes, and work instructions
- Ensure proper and sanitary storage of all food items
- Serve food according to planned meal schedules and department policies
- Use kitchen utensils and equipment to cook, prepare, and serve food following recipes
- Train other food service workers on procedures and safety
- Maintain cleanliness of work areas, including refrigerators, freezers, cooking and serving equipment
- Enforce facility uniform policy and promote a safe work environment
- Perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, pushing, and standing for extended periods
- Perform other duties as assigned
