Job Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Minimum age of 18 years
- Prior institutional food service or restaurant experience preferred
- Ability to stand and be on feet for extended periods
- Capability to perform physical activities such as lifting, bending, pushing, kneeling, and walking
- Willingness to follow food safety and sanitation protocols
- Ability to train and supervise others
- Flexibility to work varying shifts
- Dependability and punctuality
Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- Supervise inmate labor and team members in food prep and service shifts
- Prepare and instruct in the preparation of quality foods according to planned menus and recipes
- Ensure proper and sanitary food storage
- Serve food during scheduled meal times following department policies
- Use kitchen utensils and equipment to cook and serve food according to recipes and nutritional guidelines
- Follow all food safety regulations related to sanitation, handling, and storage
- Train other food service workers
- Maintain cleanliness of work areas including refrigerators, cooking equipment, and serving stations
- Enforce facility uniform policy
- Manage garbage collection and kitchen floor cleanliness
- Ensure kitchen readiness for food prep and serving including sweeping, mopping, and dishwashing
- Verify proper portions and utensils for service
- Promote a healthy and safe work environment for employees and inmates
- Perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, pushing, kneeling, walking, and standing for extended periods
- Perform other related duties as assigned
