Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Ability to stand and be on feet for extended periods
  • Dependable and flexible
  • Strong understanding of food handling regulations
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member
  • Willingness to learn and adapt
  • Physical capability to perform lifting, bending, and other physical tasks

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least 18 years of age
  • Prior institutional food service or restaurant experience preferred

Job Duties

  • Supervise inmate labor and team members in kitchen food preparation and service shifts
  • Prepare and instruct food preparation according to menus and recipes
  • Ensure proper food storage and sanitation
  • Serve food during scheduled meal times following department policies
  • Utilize kitchen utensils and equipment to cook and serve food properly
  • Train other food service workers
  • Maintain clean work areas including cleaning refrigerators, cooking and serving equipment
  • Follow facility uniform policy and ensure kitchen cleanliness including sweeping, mopping, and dishwashing
  • Monitor proper portion sizes and utensil usage
  • Promote a healthy and safe work environment
  • Perform physical duties including lifting, bending, pushing, kneeling, walking, and standing for long periods
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
