Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- minimum age of 18 years
- ability to supervise inmate labor and team members
- capability to follow food safety and sanitation regulations
- physical ability to perform lifting, bending, standing for long periods
- strong communication skills
- prior food service experience preferred

Job Duties
- Supervise inmate labor and team members during food preparation and service shifts
- prepare and instruct others in preparing quality foods according to menus and recipes
- ensure proper and sanitary food storage
- serve food following department policies and scheduled meal times
- utilize kitchen utensils and equipment for food preparation and serving
- follow all food safety regulations regarding sanitation, handling, and storage
- train food service workers
- maintain cleanliness of work areas including refrigerators, cooking and serving equipment
- adhere to facility uniform policy
- manage waste collection and keep kitchen floors clean
- ensure kitchen readiness for food preparation and serving including sweeping, mopping and dishwashing
- review proper portions and utensils for service
- promote a healthy and safe work environment
- perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, pushing, kneeling, walking, and standing for extended periods
- perform other related duties as assigned
