Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1-2 years experience in a supervisory role in a food service environment
- ability to work evening and weekend hours
- knowledge of food safety regulations
- ability to manage staff and scheduling
- excellent communication and customer service skills
- physical ability to perform food preparation and maintain kitchen sanitation
Job Qualifications
- 1-2 years experience in a supervisory role in a food service environment
- 3+ years experience in a supervisory role in a food service environment preferred
- experience working in a large volume operation such as catering or university dining with gross sales in excess of 1 million preferred
- basic food preparation experience preferred
- experience with staff training and employee scheduling preferred
- two or more years experience with mentoring, counseling, and disciplining staff preferred
- experience using POS to process payments preferred
- knowledge of essential food service equipment preferred
- certificate, technical diploma, or associate's degree or higher in hospitality, culinary arts, or related field preferred
- ServSafe certification, Food Handler, or Manager certification preferred
Job Duties
- Develops and schedules logistics and menus for daily and catering operations
- performs routine and non-routine food preparation activities including cook to order and specialty foods
- assigns and coordinates the day-to-day activities of food service staff
- adheres to federal, state, campus, and local food safety regulations, policies, and procedures
- leads and provides exceptional customer service, answers questions, and provides information regarding food preparation, catering, and associated activities
- cleans, inspects, and maintains kitchen equipment and work areas
