Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Two years prior experience in food service management
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Flexibility to work weekend, holiday and/or evening shifts
  • Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, bend, twist, and maneuver supplies
  • Dexterity to use knives, slicers, burners, ovens, fryers and rotisseries
  • Desire to learn new products and recipes
  • Maintain helpful, tactful, and courteous attitude
  • Ability to quickly and efficiently complete duties with minimal supervision
  • Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division
  • Ability to read and understand UPC codes, product labels, signage, and company policies
  • Effective verbal and non-verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work in walk-in coolers and freezers
  • Willingness to perform additional duties as needed

Job Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum two years of prior experience in a fresh food environment, preferably in a management role
  • Prior food service management experience
  • Serv-Safe certification preferred
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
  • Ability to engage and communicate effectively with customers and team members
  • Basic math skills for business calculations
  • Ability to operate cash registers, scales, scanners, and debit/credit terminals
  • Familiarity with product labeling, UPC codes, store signage, and register systems
  • Ability to learn new recipes and product details
  • Demonstrated ability to work efficiently with limited direction

Job Duties

  • Directing department personnel, meeting department goals and objectives, communicating with store management and department supervisors
  • Selecting, on-boarding, and coaching all new team members
  • Scheduling all team members
  • Engaging with customers through smiles and greetings, providing product information, selling suggestions and sampling, and giving genuine thank yous
  • Taking customer orders and ensuring timely and satisfactory completion
  • Ensuring food safety and sanitation guidelines are followed
  • Ordering products and supplies to maintain stock and merchandising standards
  • Overseeing preparation, serving, and merchandising of deli/food service items including breakfast, lunch, dinner entrees, pizzas, salads, soups, sandwiches, roller grill items, beverages and snacks
  • Displaying deli/food items in accordance with merchandising guidelines
  • Following product recipes without deviation
  • Rotating food items to ensure quality and control product shrink
  • Receiving merchandise, auditing invoices, and managing inventory and storage
  • Completing required paperwork accurately and timely
  • Processing cash register transactions, refunds, and ensuring accuracy with scale printer machines
  • Monitoring product pricing, signage, and shelf tags
  • Maintaining clean and orderly sales, prep, warehouse and storage areas
  • Ensuring department personnel use proper safety equipment and follow procedures
  • Performing other duties as assigned by management
