Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Ability to stand and be on feet for extended shifts
  • Willingness to work full-time hours
  • Ability to lift, bend, and perform physical tasks
  • Prior food service experience preferred
  • Adherence to food safety and sanitation standards

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Prior institutional food service or restaurant experience preferred
  • Knowledge of food handling regulations
  • Ability to supervise and train others
  • Strong multitasking and adaptability skills
  • Dependable and flexible work ethic

Job Duties

  • Supervise inmate labor and team members in the kitchen during food preparation and service shifts
  • Prepare, assist, or instruct inmate labor and team members in cooking quality foods according to menus and recipes
  • Ensure all food is stored properly and sanitized
  • Serve food during scheduled meal times following department policies
  • Use kitchen utensils and equipment safely and appropriately to prepare and serve food
  • Follow all food safety regulations regarding sanitation, handling, and storage
  • Train other food service workers to maintain standards
  • Maintain a clean work environment including kitchen cleaning, garbage collection, and equipment sanitation
  • Enforce facility uniform and safety policies
  • Promote a healthy and safe work environment
  • Perform physical tasks including lifting, bending, walking, and standing for extended periods
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
