Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or GED or equivalent working knowledge
  • minimum two years of experience and/or education in similar food services management work
  • excellent communication and customer service skills
  • ability to organize, lead and supervise work areas and teams
  • ability to learn food handling regulations and pass certification tests
  • ability to operate onsite food service equipment and office technology
  • possession of Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card at time of hire and maintain it during employment
  • signing of Arizona Criminal History Affidavit

Job Qualifications

  • high school diploma or GED or equivalent working knowledge
  • excellent communication and customer service skills
  • ability to effectively organize, lead and supervise work areas and teams
  • knowledge of food handling regulations and ability to pass certification tests
  • familiarity with onsite food service and office equipment
  • ability to operate computer business software, email, phone and fax
  • possession of Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card
  • signing of Arizona Criminal History Affidavit
  • previous supervisory experience
  • background in healthcare
  • bilingual skills in English and Spanish
  • SERVSAFE certification
  • additional related education and experience

Job Duties

  • Lead and direct the food and nutrition staff in assigned area or shift
  • achieve the daily food and nutrition department production and service requirements
  • interview, select and hire qualified department staff
  • influence staff turnover
  • provide formal training, orientation and on-the-job training
  • ensure the ongoing competency of staff through coaching and the evaluation of staff performance
  • monitor and support department staff to provide excellent meal service while meeting patient and customer satisfaction goals
  • monitor staff and areas to ensure compliance with regulatory agency, OSHA, and safety guidelines
  • monitor and control operating expenses and other key indicators within assigned areas or shift to meet budget requirements
  • inventory food and supplies
  • determine ordering and production quantities based on par levels and special needs
  • resolve customer problems and support staff development in customer service skills
  • work under limited supervision to ensure cost-effective and efficient operations and provide excellent service and meal quality for patients and other customers
