- Prior institutional food service or restaurant experience preferred

Job Duties
- Supervise inmate labor and team members in kitchen during food preparation and service shifts
- Prepare and instruct others in the preparation of food according to planned menus, recipes, and work instructions
- Ensure proper and sanitary storage of all food items
- Serve food during scheduled meal times in accordance with department policies
- Utilize kitchen utensils and equipment to cook, prepare, and serve food following recipes
- Follow all food safety regulations related to sanitation, food handling, and storage
- Train other food service workers
- Maintain cleanliness of work environment including refrigerators, freezers, cooking and serving equipment
- Follow facility uniform policy
- Manage garbage collection and kitchen floor cleanliness
- Ensure kitchen readiness for food preparation and serving including sweeping, mopping, and dishwashing
- Review proper portions and utensils for service
- Promote a healthy and safe work environment
- Perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, pushing, kneeling, walking, and standing for extended periods
- Stand for most of the scheduled shift
- Complete other related duties as assigned
