Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Food Management Certificate required to be completed within 30 days of hire
- Ability to lift up to 15 pounds
- Experience in the food service industry preferred
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Detail oriented and strong organization skills
- Strong customer service skills
- Ability to remain calm in crisis situations and work independently and cooperatively
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Food Management Certificate required to be completed within 30 days of hire
- Experience in the food service industry including catering, cooking, meal prep, and/or kitchen management preferred
- Experience with mental health and/or substance use disorders preferred
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Detail oriented and strong organization skills
- Strong internal and external customer service skills
- Demonstrated ability to remain calm in crisis situations, work independently and cooperatively, recognize personal limitations, and relate positively and with empathy to all persons regardless of age, race, creed, gender, or sexual orientation
Job Duties
- Coordinates, prepares and/or directs preparation of food for the assigned program
- Collaborates with supervisors, medical staff, and nutritionists as needed to ensure dietary needs are met
- Accommodates special dietary considerations when needed
- Orders food and supplies in the most efficient and cost-effective manner, remaining within budget
- Monitors and ensures all kitchen equipment is operated and maintained according to safety and sanitation requirements
- Completes follow up on all clients placed in kitchen, including working with the residential clinical team on progress and treatment plans
- May assist in orientation of new staff members
- May attend and participate in client staffing to determine progress and treatment outcomes
- Performs related duties as assigned
- Maintains current Food Management Certification
- Stays current with other trainings as assigned
- Attend meetings, training, and agency activities and events outside of regularly scheduled work hours upon request
